The American Legion provides flag education in an effort to build patriotism in our youth and to create an understanding of proper flag display and courtesy. Let us always remember that a lot of men and women have died to protect the American flag. Our flag represents a living country, therefore, it is a living object. Let us be mindful of this as we display and handle our flag. A fellow legionnaire provided the following file which is worth looking at.
Once again, a bill has been introduced in both the Senate and the House for a flag-protection amendment to the U. S. Constitution that would give Congress the authority to protect the U.S. flag from physical desecration. Click on this link to read about this bill.
