Service Officer

Our Service Officer is Legionnaire Nick Cosentino. The Service Officer's function within the post is to assist us in fulfilling our mission of "Veterans Helping Veterans in the Conway SC area". His function is to evaluate and recommend paths of assistance that we, the post, might be able to provide to veterans who, through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times.

We can also assist, as the need arises and within our membership resources, in making funeral arrangements and ensuring that the deceased Veteran has the proper burial honors. Regardless of the problem that a veteran may have, we want to assure them that we are there to help them. We can not help everyone but we will always do what we can for a brother or sister Veteran in need. If a veteran is not already affiliated with an American Legion Post, we invite them to associate themselves with Horry Post 111. Contact Nick via e-mail here.

Nick receiving an awardOn January 7, 2015, Post 111 was notified by the Horry County Police Department-North Precinct that Mr. Nick Cosentino was the recipient of the "Volunteer of the Year" award for the Horry County Police Department-North Precint. The text of the email received from Lieutenant Randall Ghent is as follows:

"Please join me in contratulating the 2014 North Precinct Volunteer of the Year, Mr. Nick Cosentino. During Mr. Cosentino's time here he has been a major role in the operation of this precint.
